I Love the 80s!

It's July of 1983 and I am 9 years old (the photo is dated!) and in love with Hello Kitty. Hello Kitty ANYTHING. I had the stuffed animal, the little trinkets and my most coveted Hello Kitty plastic headband.

This picture of me was taken by my Aunt C. Aunt C used to take me to all the best Hello Kitty shops for my stash. This particular day, she had taken me to The Rainbow Store, which was located at our local mall. They had the biggest, and best Hello Kitty collection under the sun! She calls my name, "Lori!" and this is the look she gets as she takes the photo.... Why are you bothering me when I'm trying to shop here!? It makes me giggle thinking back on it. I was such a dork.
Today's I love the 80s sale: EARRINGS!

Today's sale: All Earrings in my Shop - 20% off!
Click here! Sale ends at 10pm tonight!
Just send me a convo with your email before you pay, and I'll send a revised invoice.

P.S.! Check me out! Melanie of Earthenwood picked my Chicadee necklace for her favorite pick of the week on the Art Bead Scene blog! This necklace turned out awesome due to the little beautiful Lampwork chicadee and tube bead, that I got from my friend Payton Jett from Green Glass Cafe! I aslo couldn't have done it without D'Arsie from Mamacitabeadworks! She made this fabulous pewter button!

  1. I put a note on my blog about your brilliant one-day sale, Lorelei. The hard part would be deciding which pair to get, as they are all fully enriched with adorableness.

Hi Libby! Thanks, this picture totally makes me giggle. My husband and my boss, both say I exhibit this "look" every once in awhile... Funny how early it started.
Aunt C always supports my creative ways, you're right. BIG HUGS AUNT C!

  7. Did you collect stickers too? I had (and still have) the best sticker album around!

  8. Hey N!1
Oh I am sure you probably in the next aisle over. It was the best shop around! lol
And oh yes, did I ever have a sticker collection that could seriously kick butt. I was totally down with trading stickers back in the day too. And my favorite were the Mrs. Grossman's! They sold them and some awesome Hello Kitty stuff at SHALIMAR on the Ithaca Commons. I know you must have gone there???

  9. I just found my sticker collection and apparently my family was friends in some way with the Grosses who apparently kicked off the whole sticker craze! I had some sweet stickers! In fact looking back some of them look just like some of the small heart pendants!

  10. HI Gaea! Oh you are kidding!!?? You must have had it made in the shade! Funny that your pendants emulate the stickers in a way! I was once big into letter writing and always had to go to Michaels to get my sticker fix. They have really cool 3D stickers now that I love!

  11. I still go to Shalimar!
Oh man, I need to get out my stick album and look through them again. Those were good days! (I sound like my parents longing for the 60s)
