Thursday
I was recently told by a certain someone that they wanted to hear more about my Museum Registrar alter ego. OH! You mean, I don't sit in my studio and make jewelry all day, every day? I WISH but, Umm, no. Maybe some day I'll be able to financially do this, but now, with the new house and the bigger mortgage, that just ain't happenin!
So what do I do all day at the art museum in Upstate New York? Well here's an glimpse into a day in the life of me at my day job. A recent project I was working on; The museum owns a collection of thimbles. Someone thought it would be a good idea if all the thimbles were inventoried, photographed and cataloged in the museum's computer database. Yesterday I sat at my computer and attached all the digital photographs to their appropriate computer records. It took the entire day. It took 3 days to take all the photographs.
Zzzzzzz, I know. How boring is that?!? But, I get to do some fun stuff at work occasionally...like travel with artwork now and then to different cities and sometimes countries. But for now...THIMBLES.
This is a beautiful thimble that I found on Etsy at Teri Persing's shop. It is so beachy!
Hope everyone enjoys the summer weather we're finally getting. Today is going to be 80 degrees!
your dayjob sounds way cooler than mine!
