New Work
I worked diligently in the studio again last night. Trying to do a little more technique based jewelry instead of just whipping things out. I know the first and third aren't really technical pieces but they took a little more forethought to put together.
This first necklace uses a focal bead that I recently got from Michele at Gabriel. I was thinking I might submit this piece for the Winter issue of Stringing but I'm not sure it's magazine worthy. I used some mother of pearl rings, frosted glass rice, labradorite, sage amethyst, and an awesome new toggle from Kathy Domokos of AD Adornments.
The second necklace features a lovely polymer, stamped pendant from Heather Wynn. I wire-wrapped top-drilled pearls in khaki and teal, dangled little brass drops (Ad Adornments), biwa pearls in white, a Mamacita Beadworks pewter bird bead, and Vintaj brass chain with a little pearl and acorn dangle. I hand made the clasp out of a dragonfly connector.
And then the third necklace is based on a design I had done before with jasper and pewter and chain. This one uses etched chain from Ad Adornments, a pewter toggle from green girl studios, a faceted carnelian marble, and some lovely Mystic Blue Feldspath flat ovals.
If I can get these three listed before the 7 o'clock hour, I'll be pleased! :)
Lorelei, is that blue jasper? I love jasper stones, especially picture jasper.
ReplyDeleteYou have been so productive lately, it's inspiring.
Hi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteIt's a stone called Mystic Blue feldspath. I ordered it from LimaBeads.com. Pretty stones, quite heavy too.
I love that these all create a lovely picture together! They are all really lovely!
ReplyDeleteI really hope you submit some wares in the winter issue!your work is so fantastical!!
ReplyDeleteget to work auntie lori =)
Lorelei you just amaze me. I love all the blue tones - so serene.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things about your etsy listings is that you take the time to list the details of the piece. There are so many out there that don't. Plus your packaging is Grade A.
Lindy
Hi Heather,
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm not sure. I'm kind of lazy when it comes to writing out instructions!!
Thanks Lindy! You're so sweet!!I would never ever use handmade products in my jewelry and not list the maker. Just isn't like me. SO I'm so glad you appreciate that I do that. Cuz you're right, not everyone gives credit where it's due!!
:)
