I feel so OLD

I do. I really feel old. My sister was born and I was 16 years old. It feels like it was yesterday. And now she's an adult. All grown up and on her own and doing her thang. I'm having a hard time remembering what it was like, being at school. And sometimes I forget what it was like to be completely and utterly in love. The texting got on my nerves. I'm sorry. I'm being honest. And I kept thinking to myself, come on now.... you remember what it was like. To be crazy about someone and all you want to do is be with them, and any other person is second fiddle. But the texting every 20 minutes got old fast. (I'm sorry F if you're reading this.) I'm just being honest. But I forget. I forget what it was like. Don't get me wrong, I am completely and utterly in love with my husband and we text each other a few times a day, and call each other a few times a day while at work. SO I should be a cool sister... but I still feel old.

I did manage to get up to the studio and was quite productive in fixing a bracelet for a co-worker, packaging up some jewelry to be sent out for secret project#1, create a bracelet for secret project #2, and create a bracelet for ETSY. yay! Finally some new work to list!
I'm signing off to list this now...

  3. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has trouble sometimes remembering what it was like to be young! It seems so foggy to me because I am such a different person now...which is a good thing I think...

I love the wire wrapped links, very unique!

  4. With the advent of texting, young people in the fresh throes of love are annoying.

Sorry, and no offense at all meant to your sister, but that's just how I feel - I'm surrounded by them.

(Maybe I'm so cynical about the texting because I don't have it, and the month I did, I was too much of a fuddy-duddy to want to text my boyfriend every second. I had class and friends to pay attention to - he got his time to phone me at night.)

It's not annoying because they've fallen hard and have become mush factories, it's because they feel like they must text the s/o every. single. second. Once every fifteen minutes, I could see that.

I often hear, "I think he wants to date me because we text for hours every night."
Actually, from the girl who said that (who began dating aforementioned fellow), I got this gem last week: "I'm supposed to go to this martial arts retreat to train and help prepare me for my black belt this weekend, but I won't have my phone, so he won't be able to text me. He might go crazy. Should I stay home instead?"
    ...What?

    But all that can slide.
The truly unbearable thing is the constant checking of the phone and texting during a conversation.
    I feel that it's rude.

You can still be the cool older sister and be annoyed by the texting.
