Thank you!

I want to start by saying thank you to all of my online beading friends and blog readers for all of your lovely words of encouragement and support. I am sorry that I kind of dumped that on you out of no where and I'm sorry to have brought it down to that level...I try hard to keep a positive attitude on my blog at all times. I am also sorry that I was so vague. Some of you read between the lines, which is what I wanted.
I have decided to shake it off. I have decided to Move ON. Keep creating jewelry that makes me happy and fulfilled. Yes, this is what I enjoy doing. YES- I am UNIQUE and I am talented and I love what I do and I am creative and I am woman hear me ROAR. lol sorry, got a little carried away there. But you get the point.
This jewelry business can be hard. A tough and competitive world. But I'm not in it to compete. I'm not in it to Reinvent the Wheel, if you will. I'm not in it for fame. I'm not doing this for notoriety. I create jewelry because I love it. I live and breathe BEADS. It's my creative outlet. It's my hobby. I am passionate. I believe that every single handmade bead that I use, that artisan deserves every single bit of credit that I give. I love shouting it from the roof tops. I want people to be inspired to create beautiful things.
I have decided that I will continue as I've always done and keep creating
beautiful things. I am glad that I can do that. I got a little caught up in the fact that sometimes I'm not the only one that takes a good photo, creates a pretty necklace, maintains a look in their shop, creates with specific artist's beads. Other people do too, and they are entitled to their work and their creativity. Some designers are better at adding their own personal touches and some designers aren't as good. Bottom line is, I create a brand of jewelry and I try my very best to make it my own and to put my own creative spin on MY designs. I have worked hard at this for 2 years. It did not happen overnight. I've worked at it, improved it, and am finally happy with how my shop looks and feels. I think I've created a cohesiveness that I lacked in the beginning.
I thank every single person that has decided to purchase my jewelry.

ahhh, it's off my chest. Phew.
Now onto beady and happier things.

2 things I bought at Barnes and Noble yesterday.
1.Stringing Magazine, Fall 2008! It's incredible. I love this magazine with all my heart. It's how I got started and I wait with bated breath for every single issue that comes out. I went to B&N at lunchtime looking for anything new that I could get my hands on and I almost fainted straight away when I saw this on the shelf. I thought it wasn't going to be available until next week! It's got really fabulous Fall inspired designs and I already earmarked many many favorites! Just the inspiration I needed!

2. Handmade Nation- The Rise of D.I.Y., Art, Craft and Design by Faythe Levine. I have started reading it and it's so inspiring. If you get a chance, pick it up. It features many different artisans in the Indie Craft world, and tells their inspiring stories of how they got started.

This afternoon the hubster and I are headed to Oswego State to pick up my sis for the weekend. I finally got her away from the boyfriend for 3 whole days, and she's finally MINE! All Mine. I am so stoked. We are going to have all kinds of fun. I'll try to get in the studio sometime this weekend. I'm hoping I can get her interested in possibly making some jewelry. She hasn't really expressed interest in learning the basics, but I'll see if I can sway her.
Again, thank you to everyone and their kind words on yesterday's post. I am feeling so much better and I think it's because I now know the kind of support system I have and it makes me smile from ear to ear.
You all are the bomb diggity.

I'm so glad you're feeling better. Believe me, I have many of those days that you had. As I said before, it sometimes is the catalyst to push us beyond what we thought we could do and to create more brilliantly!!!

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Oh - should I break my book/magazine diet (self-imposed, they are taking over the house) and get that one?

  3. Hi Lynn!
You can borrow mine. I'll be done with it next week and I can send it to you. It's a fast read. It might be fun to pass it around actually. Anyone else interested?

I'd be interested! I'm having a really difficult time finishing jewelry...the beads are really piling up around my house. If you send it to me, I'll send it back with the little care package I've been meaning to send you. ;-)

  5. Hey Stef,
you mean the magazine or the book?
I was thinking that Lynn wanted the book. But if you want to borrow the magazine, that's cool too.

  11. Hi Lorelei,

Should you apologize for not being 1 dimensional, that you showed that you are 3-D and the good and introspective are all in you? I don't think so - I'm comforted to know that others contemplate the same questions so please don't apologize for not being Pollyanna. I appreciate introspection and from reading the comments, other readers do too. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Love the book recommendations. I'll definitely check out the books. I love books and you've just given me a good excuse to buy more! Thanks for enabling me wink!

Love your jewelry, it's always lovely and always you.

    Cindy
