Movie Recommendation: Coraline

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, I recommend you check out Coraline at the theater. I saw it last night, and must say, it's got to be one of the best movies I've seen, ever. yea, I said it. The movie is 3D- something I've never experienced in the theater. I can't believe how amazing it was. The funny black rimmed 3D glasses were fun, and when I got home I walked in the door with them on to freak out Joe. LoL!
The story is about a little girl who moves into a new apartment with her parents. Her parents are busy working, and don't listen to a lot of what Coraline has to say. She feels ignored and upon investigating her new apartment, she finds a secret small doorway, beneath the wallpaper in the living room. Another world is located on the other side... well, watch the trailer here. The website is really very cool too!

  3. JoAnn,
He would LOVE it. I guarantee it. It's a facsinating movie. Lots of beautiful eye candy for you and a really message for kids.
It's a bit "dark" in places, but I think a 10 year old could handle it.

Rosanne, You've gotta see it. Let me know what you think of it!

  6. It is playing at our theater. I will have to wait until it comes out on video. My movie friend is Europe for the next 3 weeks. I am glad to hear it was as good as looked in the previews.

  7. It looks really good, but in the previews it looks like it could be scary for kids. But the previews are usually more intense than the actual movie anyway. Maybe we'll go tonight once I am done torching for the day.

Coraline with a button for the "o"! And 3-D!

One of my favorite movie experiences was during a trip to Seattle Center's IMAX theater; playing was Cirque du Soleil's "Journey of Man"--in 3-D! It was awesome. My girls later bought the film for me, and we sat around our living room wearing our Smurfy-blue + Strawberry Shortcake-red cardboard glasses, but sadly, it was not the same.

Best see Coraline in the theaters.

    Mollie
