Losing Steam
I admit it. I'm losing steam. I know, it's terrible. I have been so productive the last few months. But I think that the beautiful weather, I should say intermittent beautiful weather, has made me feel like being outside, has made me feel carefree and not so focused and determined. So I've slowed down quite a bit. You're probably asking yourself "HOW? You are still blogging daily, and still listing each day. " Eh, it's just different. I can feel it.
Here are 2 new things going in the shop today. I'm not really happy with the photographs and may rework them later.
Have a great Wednesday!
Happens to everyone! Nice pieces!
ReplyDeleteWe all need to re-charge by taking in the natural world. It's really the source of all artistic inspiration! My advice-- take a notebook with you, and a pen, but just take in some sun and breeze and I'll bet you'll have more ideas than you can bead!

ReplyDeleteIts no wonder to me. After being forced indoors over the winter, getting set free is great. So don't worry enjoy your time, I am.
ReplyDeleteI like that bracelet.
I can totally relate to how you are feeling Lorelei! I am giving myself permission to relax & enjoy without feeling guilty.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weather, Lorelei! I left Maryland where it had been raining for 12 days straight to three days of rain in Florida, with at least another 3 days on the way! I can't create! I can barely get out of bed!
ReplyDeleteYes, the pretty weather definitely does this to us all. Of course, you may be feeling it, but we're not seeing it. Your pieces are, as always, stunning.
ReplyDeleteI think that we might be on the same "Steam" train...I have had almost no drive to make anything...I have the interest just no energy! It may be the weather, I agree! Hope both of us get some of whatever we need soon! :) Take care my dear!
ReplyDeleteWarmly,
Leslie
loss of momentum always a tender moment. I think your energy is amazing so maybe we can enjoy some spring daydreaming while you rejuvenate to wonder me more :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's because you've been so productive that you feel like you're losing steam.
ReplyDeleteMaybe your creative brain just need to unwind for a while, enjoying the outdoor, enjoying other things, to get fully recharged again. And then leading you once again to wonderful beady adventures !
I don't see ANYTHING wrong with those photos! The background for the bracelet is perfect, doesn't compete. Soft lighting, just right. I like the shabby chic background with the earrings too, tones down the glitter of the glass/crystal beads so they don't come across as glitzy, presents them as more versatile. I hope I will run out of steam soon too...boat is going into the water soon so I'll have to (boats and beads don't mix.)
ReplyDeleteLove those stone connectors on the bracelet!
ReplyDeleteTake some time off and enjoy yourself, L! I haven't been productive at all. I've been feeling pretty guilty about it. All I can think about is my vacation coming up! I'm so there already!
both pieces are just lovely.
ReplyDeletesometimes we just have to take that time to re charge. you'll be happy you did.
First, the pieces are lovely.
ReplyDeleteSecond, and most important, slowing down can be a good thing. Let your mind rest and wander. It is what something inside of you is telling you to do. You can even enjoy it if you like. The quiet time will give you new ideas.
I know what you mean about losing steam. It happens to me after a big rush and it's hard to recover. Though it sounds like your experience is way more pleasant. Being distracted by the outdoors sounds absolutely lovely!
ReplyDeleteWell, keep up the good work!
Love this stool. We have one like it, but the seat has a vinyl 50's classic car. We got it several years back at an estate auctions
