Influential Musac?

Are you influenced at all by what you're listening to in your studio while you are crafting/beading/sewing?

As of late, I cannot get enough of Citizen Cope. I first heard a song played on So You Think You Can Dance and since then I have been listening to Citizen Cope radio non-stop on my Pandora playlist. Yes I admit, I'm a little bit addicted to this dancing show. And half the time, I enjoy watching it to learn about new and popular music. Our local radio stations are a bit less than what I hope for, always playing the same songs over and over, and I think that Indie music is my first choice. I mostly enjoy listening to cds.

Tonight I finally decided to sit down and burn a few of their albums for my car ride to Philadelphia.

I will make a very bold statement right now.

I have yet to hear a Citizen Cope song that I didn't like! They are all really funky, and catchy.

And I love the voice of the lead singer. Incredible!!

hubba hubba,
he's not bad to look at either!

I installed a little Citizen Cope playlist over there at the right. Have a listen! Let me know what you think! Feel free to let me know what you're listening to in your studios these days...

  3. Great voice! I really like the drum beat of his Sun's Gonna Rinse and Mr. Officer songs. I'll have to download his album on my Zune. I usually don't listen to the radio much either for the same reason.

    Here's my favs:
    Jack Johnson
    Cake
    Adele
    Regina Spektor
    Mirah (not Mariah Carey!!!)
    The Roots

Have a great trip! I'm only like 4 hours away. Maybe I'll see you next year!

  4. I like quite a few of Citizen Cope's songs! My favorites are "Let the Drummer Kick That", "Sun's Gonna Rise" and "If There's Love". Thanks for sharing! I love all kinds of music but don't listen to much while I'm working, though. Don't know why. Heh, I guess I like it quite. lol! The last thing I downloaded for music was the soundtrack to the movie "Slumdog Millionaire" It's a GREAT soundtrack. Have you heard it?

  7. I stream The River out of Haverhill when I'm working. Alternative without headbanging :-)

I don't usually catch who's actually singing, but it's stuff that I wouldn't have heard up here in the sticks for a year.

And thumbs up on Jack Johnson. I also like Donovan Frankenreiter.

Thanks for the tip, I hadn't heard of him. I'll add him to my Pandora. Pandora is awesome. I listen to all kinds of music. Safe journey & blissful bead shopping.
