Gimme some More

I had to go out today and buy a new wireless router, damn-it! I guess according to the dude at Best Buy, the storm we had the other night, wiped out a bunch of local routers. Dunno if I believe, but all I do know- the dang thing didn't work come yesterday. After I got it all installed, I then got the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH. So we'll see if my computer makes it another week.  gah.

While over in that area, I stopped into Michaels and raided the Industrial Chic section yet again.  I bought a few of these cool customizeable pendants, and was stoked to try them out right away.  Basically, the way they work is, the side has a clip- you undo the clip and the top half swivels up and open. The two circular pieces of glass inside, slip out and you fill what you want inside the glass sandwich and put the whole thing back together. Here's where I had trouble-

I used a piece of scrap book paper, that I embellished with a small image of a moth.  Then I added a dictionary page, cut out. Those two pieces plus the glass- made it too tight to fit together. I really had to cram it in there, and I am so surprised the glass didn't shatter in the process. I must have fussed with this for a good half an hour. The best part of this pendant is that it's two sided. Adds that much more versatility when you go to wear it! So 2 sheets of paper, in my humble opinion- is necessary.  Just thought I'd warn you in case you were raiding your local Michael's for this line, anytime soon.

Overall thought- I am quite pleased with how it looks- I made this one, and put it into a necklace design right away- I made one more, still yet to become anything cool.

Love the pendant, even if it did take a bit of work! I was just at Michael's yesterday but didn't see anything like this. Mine didn't have any domino tiles either:-(

  8. Love it! Just yesterday I bought some paper at the arts n crafts store in the KDW in Berlin. I bought some really thin patterned paper which would be perfect for such a tight fit.
