Fall Stringing Carnival
I don't know about you, but the Fall season is my favorite time of year! There is something so calming about jewelry designs that incorporate Fall elements, and this years Fall issue of Stringing showcases 24 jewelry designers that successfully did just that!
Have you picked up a copy yet? It should be in your local bookstores and crafting stores all across the country as of today, August 17th!
To celebrate the season and the artists, Michelle Mach coordinated this fun blog hop so that you can get a taste of what is in this new issue of Stringing!
For example, here are my 2 necklace projects that are featured in the issue. Love Letter is a neutral, wearable necklace that incorporates a very Autumn color palette with faceted ovals of Spice Jasper, and a handcrafted resin filled Letter pendant from Jade Scott. The brass hook clasp attaches at the front of the necklace for a comfortable fit at the back.
The second necklace was inspired by the earthy ceramic beads from my friend Keith O'Connor. The colors of Fall leaves in gold, and red paired with patterned silk cording from Ornamentea, creates a perfectly inspired piece of jewelry that will be perfect with your favorite sweater! Wire wrapped beads on large gauge wire at the front, and comfy silk around the back, with a hook clasp located at the side for a fun asymmetrical look.
I also have a simple pair of ceramic charm earrings in the earring section on page... Wire wrapped Lucite beads with ceramic charms from Marsha Neal Studio- a perfect coordinated pair, to either of my necklace projects.
Have a great time hopping from blog to blog, to see what the other 23 designers included in the Fall issue, and be sure to leave comments, as Michelle Mach is hosting some great giveaways on her blog!
Beautiful! I love the one with the silk cording. Very cool. I'll make sure I go check out everybody else, too.ReplyDelete
The silk cord is my favorite component and makes me want to touch it! I love how it balances with the chunky beads in the front. I just got my first order from Ornamentea and I felt like a kid at Christmas...such cool things!!ReplyDelete
I love the sell & tell article, too. Sadly, the necessity to keep items moving out of the studio always exists so I can keep bringing more pretty beads in! haaaaaaaaa
Thanks for the continued creative inspiration!
Just checked this issue yesterday at my Monday tea at Borders. Great designs and lot's of ceramic designer pieces present! Love the multi cord!ReplyDelete
Love the simplicity of the earrings, nice work!ReplyDelete
The cord is great - and I have a copy already - love your pieces. Thanks for sharing.ReplyDelete

Love Letter is so pretty! I enjoyed the pieces you created with the Earthenwood components too. The "Sell & Tell" article was very helpful.ReplyDelete
Thanks for the mention in your interview yesterday - I feel so touched! You are a huge inspiration to me too!
I love fall too. More so than ever this year I am looking forward to the cool crisp air and the glorious color. These are all so very pretty! I love that cording and the little lucite beads in your earrings:)ReplyDelete
Wow, wow and more WOW! You do this colorway so well, Miss Lorelei! I love that Jade Scott pendant..and that sweet little boot button is the perfect touch. I finally got two of them from my dear friend Sharon. And that cord is really dynamite. These are totally colors in my wheelhouse. I want them both! Thank you for sharing your inspiration!ReplyDelete
Enjoy the day!
Your elements are always so divine! Great fall colors!ReplyDelete
Love all three pieces, but the second necklace, wow! Your choice of vibrant autumn colors really makes a lovely statement necklace!ReplyDelete
I'm a follower of yours, so I would have hopped to here anyway!! Love your love letters necklace!ReplyDelete
I enjoyed your article in the issue and LOVE your "Love Letter" piece!ReplyDelete
I like all of them! But that colorful ornamentea piece is just dazzling!ReplyDelete
Love them all, but the one with the crepe cord especially!ReplyDelete
Love that ornamentea cord! And the ceramic beads you paired with it are perfect. Beautiful color combinations and as usual, your designs are simple yet complex in their colors and textures. Nice work!ReplyDelete
Very nice pieces!ReplyDelete
I've been looking at those patterned cords before, but just never known how I'd want to use them. Think the patterns are my style so perhaps it'd be easier for me to make my own cords instead, matching the fabric with my beads (yes, I know how to make rouleau cords, but haven't tried it).
Your work is always so inspiration and creative and so...YOU! My favorite bit? That shot of an unexpected purple bead in the silk cord necklace. Thank you for continually raising the bar for the rest of us!ReplyDelete
I love all 3 of your designs. You always use color in such an unexpected way i.e., the one purple bead in the cord necklace. Girl you are talented!!!!ReplyDelete
Love them all L!ReplyDelete
I love that Spice Jasper it is just "lovely" used in Love Letter. I LOVE natural stones. Also love the silk cord. firstname.lastname@example.orgReplyDelete

Wow - love the stones in the first one. And the cord in the second - oh my!ReplyDelete
I am not sure how you do it, but you always have a fresh look to your jewelry, yet it is very Lorelei... I love what you do and have Lorelei envy! :-) LOL! Congratulations! Kris
Very pretty - all of them. I'm most partial to stone, though - so Love Letter is my fave of the group.ReplyDelete
Love both necklaces, the spice jasper is my favorite as I love natural stones. Great colors and combination of beads on the second one. Great designs, great designer!ReplyDelete
