Earthenwood Design Team

I was invited by the lovely Melanie Brooks to be part of her Earthenwood Design Team. I received the first package of goodies a few days and couldn't wait to get started. She sent us all a "wood" toggle, 2 "wood" links, and a house inspired pendant. I love the faux wood pieces she's been doing. It falls into the natural elements I normally like to use, so I knew it wouldn't be a problem to design around them.
The pendant will have to wait for a future project, this time around I just used the toggle, and the links. I paired them with a Marsha Neal Studio transfer Owl pendant, wood tubes, mottled green czech glass nuggets, and some faceted pink Rhodonite rounds, brass wire and drilled beach stones.
I love the creative idea of having a group of people using the same elements but in different ways. Kind of like the Michaels challenge and the Fusion Beads challenge! It pushes me in new directions and I get to use elements in new ways.

  1. Now that's creative, wearable, and fun! I like necklaces that make subtle statements, like yours, that we are part of nature.

  2. Hmm ... none of the links are working for me. Am I the only one?

  3. Wow! You're fast! I didn't get my pieces yet. I hope they come in the mail today! I love how Melanie's pieces look so great with the Owl pendant. Just a natural together. Love your choose of beads here. The design looks really fresh and earthy!

None of the links you gave could be found. What a pity!
