Bon Voyage
I got another nasty comment on my blog yesterday. Apparently, Ms. Grumpy pants says so many of you are so tired of my constant brag brag bragging. It has me thinking. How is what I do here, any different than what other bloggers do? I cannot be the only one that blogs about beads, trips, purchases, coveted wantings, and so on. Right? I mean, I sincerely cannot be the only one that blogs about their life.
So, in that case, I will not tell you that I am headed to Spain for a week. I will not describe the anxiety I have felt over the last 3 days about going to Spain. I will not tell you about the thrill I got today when finding out that I will actually have a travel partner afterall. I will not tell you that finally I am very excited about this trip. I will not explain that I will be there for work. I will not describe my duties and heavy responsibilities while I am there. I will not blog about my responsibilities, and my plans to network with another lending museum while I'm there. And I definitely won't tell you about the fears I've had, or the headaches my poor husband has had all week listening to me lament about this trip,
I will not blog about being giddy about the food I will eat. I will not tell you how excited I am to try smoked jamon, and authentic Paella. I will not tell you about my plans to meet up with a blog reader who will tell me more about the city, show me sights and take me shopping for beads. I certainly will not tell you how I've been brushing up on my non-existent Spanish skills. I won't tell you how happy I am to know that Madrid has no snow right now, and that it will be in the 50s - as I type this from my cozy house where outside the weather has been frightful and snowy.
I won't tell you that I am excited to take a million pictures from my trip, and some I may even blow up and frame- using that new camera that I know you definitely don't want to read about here on the blog.
I will not tell you that I hope to find a perfect gift in Spain, for my perfect husband whose 40th birthday is next week. I will not blog about the souvenirs I hope to find while I'm there, for my sister- who wishes she could come along. And not one word about the inspiration I hope to find while I am away from my studio.
Nope. Not gonna do it.

Have a fantastic time Lorelei! I can't wait to hear ALL about your trip, food, purchases, what you did for your work and all the adventures you had!
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
G
I won't tell you how thrilled I am for you -- or how jealous!! :)
ReplyDeleteI will tell you that whatever you want to talk about on "your" blog is the way it is meant to be. It is not anyone else's blog. No one else has permission to critique you or use your space to deposit their ill will or negativity.
My hat is off to you Lorelei...you are treating this exactly as it is meant to be treated...now go and have a wonderful experience in Spain!
And I'm not gonna tell you that I hope you have a wonderful, successful business trip, and that I hope you get some fun personal time as well. And I'm not gonna tell you that I will be eagerly awaiting seeing as many of those photos you aren't gonna take with that new fantabulous camera. I'm also not gonna tell you that I hope the anxiety melts away so you can enjoy your time in Madrid - snow free!
ReplyDeleteCindy
I'm not going to tell you to have a FANTASTIC time. Nor am I going to tell you to have a safe trip and build lots of splendid memories. Nope. Not going to tell you. :)
ReplyDeletei also will not tell you how happy i am that you are excited about your trip and hope you have a wonderful experience..
ReplyDeleteand i will not tell you that some people should get over it and mind their own business
being older and i am pretty sure way more cantankerous than yourself i Can tell you thattype of invasive comment would be less than the hum of a gnat in my ear.
LOL fantastic Blog!! Be yourself is the best Remedy Lorelei. Whoever it is should not go to your Blog at all really. Our Mothers used to say if you cant say anything nice then dont say it. (or back away or stay way) I hope you have a great time! Bon Voyage!
ReplyDeleteFrom me to Ms. Grumpy Pants. No one made you subscribe to Loreli's blog. There are millions of other blogs to read. So go there, do that, and leave the rest of us to enjoy this blog the way it is.
ReplyDeleteAnd I definitely won't tell you to write down the name of every bead store that you visit so that you can share the LOVE when you get back! ;)
ReplyDeletePues, disfrútate!
Don't let her get to you, Loreli! I know it is hard, but you know she doesn't deserve it! Punch some pillows or something. Straight in the face!
ReplyDeleteYOU deserve a great trip and an awesome time!
And, I'm certainly not going to tell you that I agree with ALL of the above comments!! : ) CJ
ReplyDeleteBon Voyage! have a great trip and come back to tell us all about it. Ole!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful, fun filled trip! I look forward to reading about it and seeing pictures. I hope you find tons of inspiration and just enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteI am not going to tell you how very jealous I am of your trip and ALL the FUN you are going to have.
ReplyDeleteMake sure to get the names and websites of those great bead stores.
Safe travels.

Well if she's not gonna tell you...then you will have to wait until I get home from Spain and tell you everything she did...in a very braggy, braggy way!
ReplyDeleteSee ya Monday sweetie, safe flight!
save some sangria for me!
Goodonya Lorelei!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip and come back and brag big time
I will not come back here to listen to all the details then either! LOL!
ReplyDeletePLEASE don't ever stop sharing your life with us! I love your blog!
Kim (Texas)-yup! snowy here too....
telling us about your life is not bragging. Grumpy pants needs to get a life.
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome time! Please tell us everything!!!
Telling us about your life is what makes your blog so interesting!! Have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteSorry you got a grumpy pants in your life too. I am excited to hear about beads and trips and sangria.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time!
Oh yeah and you too Lisa!!!
Shannon
too bad you can't block the bad seed. I love your blog. so there, grumpy pants!
ReplyDeleteI'm SO glad you're not going to tell us about any of the above...then I won't have to tell you, I'm SO jealous! Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't have anything nice to say...
Wishing you everything that is bonita y bien y sobroso!!!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes peeps cannot stomach other people's success: it is usually because of unresolved emotional issues (simply put jealousy.) I might be jealous of all of your wonderful experiences if I was a beader, a jewerly maven, or the like. But as I am simply an armchair traveller in this arena, I actually get giddy for your success. More love is just that, more love.
ReplyDeletePoor Ms Grumpy pants needs to either step up and get serious about doing something herself, maybe even writing a blog of her own, and stop reading your blog. I mean, we all have free will when it comes to which blogs we follow.
So, please continue to gush on, and please do tell of the wonderful time that you will no doubt have in Spain tasting goodies and connecting to great folk and such, and good luck finding that perfect gift for your sweetie!
Namaste,
Jan
Honestly!! I love to live vicariously through your blog and many others blogs. I love my life, but it's always good to have someone else's to be envious of. Lorelei please keep blogging! If myself or someone else doesn't like what you like....move on!
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your non-trip!!
And I won't tell the nasty person that they don't have to read your blog if they are so very very tired of hearing about your life. They must think hightly of themselves to police your blog.
ReplyDeleteBut I will tell you that I love reading your blog, and phooey on them if they don't like it.
Enjoy your trip and don't waste another thought on the likes of these 'jealous of your success and talent' people.
Bwhahahaha!
ReplyDeleteI will not tell you to have a good time, because you probably wouldn't listen to me anyway.
I won't tell you to have some fancy Spanish drink for me, and I won't ask you to come back here and tell me which one you had in my name.
I won't tell you to try to find some Spanish bead shops. And I definitely won't ask to see what you bought there.
I won't tell you that I'm so happy that you won't be going alone, because that's no fun.
And for sure I won't tell you just how much I enjoyed this post!!!
Lorelei - I hope you have a great time and I look forward to hearing about you trip.
ReplyDeleteMemo to Ms GrumpyPants - being upbeat and positive like Lorelei is not the same as being "braggy" -sorry that you don't the pleasure from reading her blog thay I do.
Lorelei, never stop being you. Haters. That's all these people are. They are eaten up inside with envy, and are lashing out at you. It's their problem. I love reading about your life! Just don't stop....
ReplyDeleteI there! I'm a fairly new follower and enjoy your blog very much. I must say that you should tell Ms Grumpy Pants to take a hike! lol! I can't believe you actually received such a comment! No, wait, I probably can but don't let them affect the way you blog!
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, sounds like such an exciting trip -- would love to hear all about it after!
Have a wonderful, wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteSpain! Cool! Grumpy people! Uncool!
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your trip! I'm sure it will be amazing!
p.s. Can you just delete the heckler comments? I would.
Hey L, its YOUR blog, so if GP has an issue they can chose not to follow! Write whatever you want to, its yours to so. A huge bunch of loyal readers are very happy to read your posts. Have a fab trip - try not to stress, and just take it all in. We look forward to some tales and photos... Vicki :)
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic trip and please do SHARE everything about your trip!
ReplyDeleteOMG - you are the best!!! Please travel safe, blog the heck out of whatever you want as often as you want and with as many pictures, descriptions, etc that you feel like. Your blog is you and there are SO many people that love you for your honesty & openness with your life experiences that most of us could only daydream about…
ReplyDeleteOh, and btw, thanks for shipping my new earrings out so fast - I got them from the mailbox today and they have yet to leave my ears! They might be my 2011 wear all the time pair…
Look forward to hearing ALL about your trip. Breathe… deep, calming breathes…
Find your inspiration while there...
I am not going to tell you that I will turn into your new Grumpy-Pants if I can't keep reading about all your excitement.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to some Spain inspiration :)
I think writting a blog is another form of journal writting. The difference is the public can 'choose' to read it.
ReplyDeleteI choose to read your blog because I take pleasure in your pleasure. I get to share your adventures and experiences. And now I get to go to Spain with you, because I am planning on reading about the trip.
As for Ms. Grumpy - I'm sorry she's grumpy, sad and angry, And hope that she will channel her energy in a kinder and more loving way.
I will not tell you that I can not wait to see photos of your trip. I am not planning to live vicariously through your memories of Spain. How awesome! Have the best time ever.
ReplyDeleteWe all hope you have a brilliant time and take lots of pics. Why does "grumpy pants" read your blog if she doesn,t like it????????She so needs to get a grip.Love,Anne.
ReplyDeleteI, for one, find a huge amount of inspiration from your blog. I am new to jewelry making and cannot wait to see new photos posted. If your topic for the day is something I am not interested in then I just don't read it; I just look at the pictures.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Grumpy Pants has an unhappy life and likes to bring others to his/her level.
ENJOY your trip and I cannot wait to hear all about it and see the delicious photos that will follow!!
Take no notice and enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteRight. All those 800+ watchers keep coming here because your blog is so boring to read... lol. I check in here every day and look forward to it, and if that commenter doesn't like what you write, I'm quite sure that nobody's forcing her at gunpoint to read it.
ReplyDeleteJust ignore those people, they're just jealous of your success. You go and have fun in Spain! :)
Hello from Costa Rica. I read your blog everyday, I love everything you post. Do not listen to envious comments. Make the good and throw away the bad.
ReplyDeleteI do not understand English, but when something interested me and go looking for the translator, so I read everything you write.
I hope you understand my comment and continue forward. You are special and all you do is very very special!
Hugs,

Hahaha...! Applause and chapeau!!!
ReplyDeleteMadrid is sooo beautiful! You will love it - even though it is not really the perfect time of year to go there ;)
Have a wonderful time in spain!
Ah internet, the place where anonymity rules...
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic trip and please tell those of us who are not internet trolls about your trip when you return! I love your blog posts and will continue to love them. Keep them just the way they are!
How exciting! I, like the others, will not tell you how jealous I am about you trip :-) I do expect to read all about it and see lots of pictures when you return!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful and safe trip!
Hey Lorelei,
ReplyDeleteI wish for you to have a great time in Spain and have a fantastic time with your blogger friend. I can't wait to hear about your adventures over there. As for Miss Grumpy pants she can just delete your blog and not make herself subject to making nasty comments and she has that chice to not read your blog but the rest of us LOVE your blog and can't wait to see and hear about your purchases and see your lovely creations. All of the purchases I have made form you have got others envious of me because I am wearing your creations. Your earrings rock. Like I have mentioned to you before I have a big earring fettish. Keep up the fantastic and wonderful work you do. Have fun and can't wait to hear of your adventures when you return.
Kathy
Hi Lorelei,
ReplyDeleteHave a great time!
I am living vicariously through you so take lots of photos and post them!
Can't wait to hear all about it!
Cilla
Lorelei, have a wonderful trip! I will love hearing about your travels when you get back. Authentic paella is the best! So bring a huge appetite.
ReplyDeleteHaving been to Spain a few times I can not tell you how jealous I am!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMake sure you go to Calle de los Cuchilleros a tiny street behind Plaza Mayour packed with the oldest tapas bars in the city.
When stuff like Ms Grumpy Pants comments happen I always think about one of Einstein's quotes:
"GREAT SPIRITS WILL ALWAYS ENCOUNTER VIOLENT OPPOSITION FROM MEDIOCRE MINDS"
HAVE FUN MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!
As with all the others above, I will not wish you a safe trip and I will not hope you have a fantastic time. I will also not tell you that I wish I could be there :) Keep outing the haters and doing your thing!
ReplyDeleteMs. Grumpypants doesn't speak for me! I am not sick of your blog AT ALL.
ReplyDeleteYour ears must have been burning last night, I mentioned your blog to a new friend I met at Kate McKinnon's party. She had seen your necklaces at Golem Studio's booth and hadn't seen your blog. (she loaded up on their wonderful beads!)
Have a great time in Spain!

How wonderful.....not going to tell you how jealous I am....and I have been to Spain....you will not be disappointed.....
ReplyDeletedon't give her the power to make u question yrself. i mean it. that's an order.
ReplyDeleteif anything, I'm 10x more 'braggy' on my blog, cuz i love what i do like crazy. but i am jealous cuz i know you havent reached true success until you have an authentic crazy stalker-type hater.
ohh, when i get one I'm gonna bait her so bad!! man, i cant wait.
you'll have a ball in spain, its amazing.
I'm not going to tell you to have safe travels. Or how much fun I hope you have traveling with Lisa. Or how much I'm gonna miss you while you're gone. Or how much I can't wait for you to get back to not hear about everything you saw and did. You better take lots of pics!!!
ReplyDeleteHehe! So cute! Have fun dear! I would be anxious and nervous (even if it was something I was excited about) too! I hope you find that perfect something for your hubby!
ReplyDeleteBlogs are about the people who write them. So- whatever. Its like, if there is a show that you don't like, don't watch it. Some people are just unhappy and feel they must rip on others. NO worries.
Thanks everyone!! I can't wait to tell you about my trip when I return. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteWell this made me laugh. I will not mention how happy I am for you and envious.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip and find lots of inspiration.
I will not tell you how happy I am and super relieved that you have a travel partner!!! YAY! I'm relieved for me and so very happy for you because I know just how much you will be enjoying this trip now!!! I won't tell you just how much I hope there will be some flip videos of your amazing trip with an amazing travel partner! And I won't tell you how excited I am to hear and see EVERYTHING Madrid from the food to the beads!!!
ReplyDeleteOh jeeez...some people need to get over themselves!! WHat are they doing reading and commenting if it clearly distresses them so much???!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have an ace time and I am looking forward muchly to reading all about it, here on YOUR blog!!!
I am not going to tell you that just made me laugh out loud.
ReplyDeleteHee Hee, have a swell time, I look forward to reading all about it.
ReplyDeleteI can't quite figure out why grumpy is still reading a blog she doesn't enjoy, how odd.
Whoever Ms. Grumpy pants is needs to get a life. You obviously have a great one and love sharing your experiences and the inspiration that comes from them. I for one, love hearing about them for I will be vicariously following you there and sharing in the fun by seeing all your wonderful pictures and hearing about the trip. Have a super wonderful time and please do share about it. I have been to southern France but not Spain and would love to travel more but can not at this time so go and have fun for you and me!
ReplyDeleteI certainly won't tell you to take a jamon....wrap it up....and bring it home in your coat....I would NEVER...EVER...suggest that....not one bit...I've heard it's like butter...sigh ...not that I'm saying that's good or bad.....
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time "not" doing any of those lifetime adventures. Ignore the Grumpo pants.
ReplyDeleteI for one enjoy reading about all of those things. I have never felt a bragging vibe. It's no different from conversations I'd have with friends that are excited about things and want to share. You're blog is a welcome diversion from the vast mountains of snow outside my window in Michigan, and it gives me links to other sites I might not have stumbled across otherwise. I look forward to hearing about your trip.
ReplyDeleteOh Negative Nancy must just have her panties in a bunch. I mean, a blog is SUPPOSED to be about the person writing it. It is YOUR blog. NOT HERS.
ReplyDeleteSome people are going to be spiteful jealous little witches and want to infect you (and anyone, really) with their negativity. I hate that.
You enjoy Spain. And, though I have no place to tell you what to blog, I want to see what kind of stuff you get into! I want pictures of food, handsome Spaniards, and your shopping trips... and yes, in that order :P
While I'm completely jealous of your trip (maybe not the responsibilities part), I've been looking forward to your posts about Spain. Please don't let one asshat ruin it for the rest of us. Have a FABULOUS time and tell us ALL ABOUT IT!!
ReplyDeleteSO jealous! In a good way! You go girl! Can't wait to not hear about it and I will avert my eyes if you accidentally post pictures! : ) XO
ReplyDeleteI don't get it ~ if this person dislikes you and your blog upsets her, WHY does she read it? SHE is in control of what she reads, listens to or watches! It's ridiculous! Ugh, I don't "get" some people!
ReplyDeleteHave a WONDERFUL time in Spain! Enjoy every minute and let those of us who have would LOVE to be in your shoes know what it is like!
And please, please don't tell us about any sexy Spanish hotties you might happen to see. LOL!!! Never forget that TRUE friends (and fans) ALWAYS ask for the details.
ReplyDeleteAs for grumpy, it looks like she can't get enough of your blog because apparently she reads it forwards, backwards, sideways, slanteways and any other way she can think of. Maybe she's a "BSI" Blog scene investigator. Honey, when you finally get a clue, MOVE ON!!!!
Love ya L, Mel
I'll bet Grumpy will be REALLY excited when your book comes out. Now that makes me laugh out loud. Mel
ReplyDeleteDoes Ms. Grumpy Pants offer any suggestions as to what we ARE supposed to blog about? Blogs are essentially our journals; our diaries that we've chosen to allow others with LIKE MINDS to read - to sympathize, cry tears of laughter and joy and enjoy right along with us. I would like to know what Ms. Grumpy Pants blogs about - I hope it makes for some very gripping reading, since she seems to think she knows all about it.
ReplyDeleteForget about the case of the grumpies - Enjoy your time in Spain, Lorelei. What a wonderful opportunity you've been given - I bet the ideas are exploding out of your head already!
You tell her, Lorelei! And I do hope you listen to the vast majority of your readers and share lots of details from your trip. I may be stuck at home with a 2-year-old, but I choose to travel vicariously and enjoy your sharings instead of trying to bring you down. Have a fun trip!
ReplyDeleteSheesh - forget Ms. Grumpy Pants. She's obviously got issues and isn't worthy of any more of your attention. I hope you have the most wonderful time in Spain and that you make memories for a life time!
ReplyDelete
