Earthenwood Design Team- Resin Key edition

I just love being part of this design team because Melanie always sends such a variety of goodies. This month she sent the team one of her new resined keys from her new shop, EarthenOxide
It is so pretty in person, the resin has a shimmering blue glow- the image is of a tree, and there is a small leaf resined in on the shaft of the key.
I knew right away that I wanted to do something really feminine- the color is gorgeous. So, luckily I had just ordered and received a few of these large Swarovski crystal rounds from Fusion Beads. and I found some faceted opal pink rondelles that Andrew Thornton sent me long ago, along with a SUPER COOL Mokume Gane round from Pam Wynn, Heather Wynn Millican's Momma.
Dug out some chain and a Arte Metal butterfly from Vintaj Brass. The clasp, just above the Pam Wynn round, is a Tierra Cast button and I created a button toggle by beading a silver seed beaded loop.
It all came to gether quite fast, and I love the outcome. It's funky, asymmetrical and modernly feminine.

Be sure to Follow the  other members of the Design Team:

  1. The color on your key is beautiful, Lorelei. I love the way you used the butterfly with the chain as the focal. Very lovely! Enjoy the day.

  2. Very Beautiful. It's such a beautiful focal.

  3. Great things to catch the eye throughout the design -- I really like mokume gane bead, particularly with the button clasp right above it. Really pretty!

  4. Hi Lorelei, those keys are just so pretty & what i love about your creations is the way you incorperate many different components that you would think don't really go together but once you see them together it really looks amazing very unique i mean isn't that the whole point of making something handcrated making OOAK & unique jewelry and you do that perfectly Lorelei Happy TGIF ttfn L:)

  5. Totally gorgeous! A lovely mixture of industrial and feminine.

  6. I love the key focal ...the color is really cool! And such a beautifully romantic necklace...

  7. Did you get your new Step by Step Wire issue? Connie Fox has a great article about teaching (Part 1 was in last issue). Good tips for your class this weekend.
    Good luck - you'll do g-r-e-a-t!!
