ReplyDeleteWell here is something interesting/funny that happened to me today. My friends two little kids asked me today if I have ever had sex in space. My response: I've never been in space.
I guess they were watching some Universe Series and one was on sex in space. Gotta love kids. I hope you will be able to be asked the same kinds of fun questions in a few years too:).
This bead makes me think of the beautiful sunset I hope to see in Florida this fall!

ReplyDeleteI don't know if I can participate in this give away (since I am from Greece.. that means far far away.. :P) but I have to tell you that this bead somehow reminds me of our universe and our galaxy (I really don't know why!!). When I look inside it (through your photos..) it reminds me of how small we all are in comparison to the infinite.. Its colors are awesome...

Lampworks so Wonderful what one can do with the glass! Glass loves to slump for one thing, but once a Lampworker learns their craft the possibilities are endless what you can do with it. From the Borosilicate to the Moretti glass its all devine. Some Lampwork you strike in the flame to get different colours and the boro colours could be compared to the Hubble spacecraft that has taken brilliant pics of our earliest of creation Universe! A lovely bead here!!

OK, since you asked for something interesting, and something you don't know, I will have to digress to something un-jewelry related. A scientist in Russia has found a way to domesticate foxes. They act just like dogs. Their tails curl up, their ears get droopy and their coats get spotted. Just like dogs!

ReplyDeleteYou may already know this, but when looking at beads online, it's helpful to sit at least an arm's length away from the computer so that you don't ruin your keyboard when you drool over the lampwork beads...It's an important skill to learn. If you don't have to buy a new keyboard, you have more money for beads!

How lovely! The bead reminds me of the northern lights. This evening I performed a concert in a Victorian swimming pool - yes, actually IN a swimming pool. No water though and it's a listed building, undergoing heavy renovation. Now, I bet you didn't know that now, did you?! x

ReplyDeleteI looks a bit like the planet Jupiter, especially in the last picture. You can almost imagine the two bubbles being part of the perpetual hurricane in Jupiter's clouds. Of course, the reddish color might make more akin to Mars. Did you know that Mars is red to iron oxide, and that the largest amount of iron oxide on Mars is actually fine ground hematite? You do now!

ReplyDeleteOk, I don't know if you'll find this interesting but I sure do. My daughter has a 20-month old daughter who has an amazing vocabulary. She's quite remarkable! My daughter hasn't let her watch tv (the parents don't really watch tv either) but they do watch Baby Signing Time videos with her. She can sign and say about as many words as a 4 year old (!), and I believe it's the sign language that made the difference. It let her communicate before she was old enough to speak. Then when she could speak it all fell in place. Amazing girl! My daughter is so convinced of the importance of this, she just became a certified Baby Signing Time teacher!

Anyway, I'm an international follower so not sure if this giveaway is open to us worldwide fans but am trying all the same :). It goes without saying that the bead is gorgeous. Idk why but it reminds me of a planet - not sure which one, my knowledge of astronomy is abysmal. I had a look at Pascal's Etsy shop and he has some other beads that ALSO remind me of planets and galaxies and such stuff. I think it would be cool to make a necklace with this bead and some others of Pascal's - it would look stunning and have a seriously geeky name like the Milky Way, or something like that LOL. Anywho - I'd love to be the lucky duck who wins this but in the name of good sportsmanship - good luck to everyone!

ReplyDeleteThe waves of color in this bead look very much like something you'd see in outer space (or in a Star Trek movie!) which is rather fitting since today (July 1) brings us a partial, yet very powerful, solar eclipse. This eclipse energy should bring about enlightenment and transformation, or in other words - an AHA moment for many of us!

Did you know that Einstein's brain was stolen at the autopcy (spelling?)? And that it was kept in a Tupperware bowl for many years, sort of just in the back of the thief's house or if it was the trunk of his car. He kept sending small samples of the brain to scientists all over the world for many years, coz he wanted them to help him figure out if Einstein's brain differed in any way from normal brains. ReplyDeleteDidi you know that babies have over 300 bones but as adults we have only 206. Tiny bones fuse together by the time we reach 4 or 5 years old :-)
