I have no immediate summer plans. it will be just going with the flow. Summer dish? 2 things...a lovely caprese salad...thick slices of tomato, fresh thick slices of mozzarella cheese, a lot of fresh basil, salt/pepper, and a drizzle of basalmic vinegar and olive oil. my other is cucumber/tomato salad--chop cucumber (european seedless work well) and tomatos into small pieces. Cook up a pot of rice--a little bit sticky is good. toss with the cuks and tomatoes. finely chop up a small amount of cilantro and throw it in. drizzle in oil of choice and some rice wine vinegar. season w/salt and pepper to taste. YUMMMMMMM!!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy,
Michelle
I have company coming for the next 3 weeks. All different each week. But the best part is both of my boys are part of that company on 2 different weeks, along with my Daughter in Law. So we'll play beads and just play (as well as we can in 103 degrees) :) I love that Mauve Rose pendant. Gorgeous. My e-mail should be in my blogger profile.
ReplyDeletehttp://KayzKreationz.blogspot.com
Those pendants are beautiful! I agree with Michelle about the fresh tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and basil, basalmic and oil - oh yum - making myself hungry and I just ate breakfast! Grandkids coming in August and going to the Outer Banks in Sept - can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI'm busy incubating my 2nd baby girl and getting my big girl ready for school for the first time! Lots of playdates and not enough creative time in my opinion!! These are all gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteShe was my bead soup partner, and I get endless compliments on the beads she gave me! What a talent! LOVE that Klimpt bead!
ReplyDeleteIn the summer, I love salad and anything off the grill! Including corn cooked on the grill.

My granddaughter spent three weeks with me earlier this summer and we will probably have more visitors before it is over. My new favorite summer dish is "Blueberry Cream Cheese Pie." Here is a link to the recipe: http://www.notesfrommyfooddiary.com/2011/05/02/blueberry-cream-cheese-pie/

I have "Summer Hours" at work, meaning I get out early afternoon. So I have been spending my afternoons beading by the pool. I am making Christmas gifts for my daughter, nieces, sister & granddaughters and girlfriends. Just enjoying the two things I love most..beading and being outdoors.
ReplyDeleteThese pendants are simply beautiufl.
MMMM, lovely pendants!
ReplyDeleteWell for now my plans are to get through softball tournaments this week, working overtime next week, a family reunion the last week of July, staying cool, taking care of my pitiful garden, and hopefully making lots of jewelry to sell. And if I'm lucky, I'll have some ripe tomatoes soon. What about you?
Alice
Looking forward to Beadfest in August, my first.
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing!!! I actually "took off" this summer from the market so we could have summer plans :) Working 7 days a week will make you old. We have several bike trips planned. We did The Dragons Tail in May, are going up thru Mt. Jefferson Park this month, and out Rt. 421 from Boone, NC to Bristol in Aug :) fun fun fun!!
ReplyDeleteI am going to repost this to my blog and facebook - hopefully that will send you more entries!!
Thanks again!
These pendants are gorgeous. One of my favorite summer dishes is a Mango Salsa with fresh cilantro. Here in Florida the Mangoes run rampant now and chopped up with some cilantro, onion , etc. they are very light and refreshing and a nice topping on fish or on the side. Yum.
ReplyDeleteOh, so pretty!! I got my fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteOoh I would love to win. Not too many summer plans over here. Lots of stroller walks with my 7 month old Lucas.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely pendants!
ReplyDeleteI have just come back from a week away, looking after chickens, so I haven't got many other summer plans.
We need to get some decorating done, and my folks are moving to the coast, so hopefully we will visit them too :)
Those are some beautiful pendants! I'm going on a short trip to San Antonio, Tx on the 25th and back to work on the 29th. I love anything fresh from the garden or in my case from the farmer's market veggies and fruits yummy.

Love those pendants #3 is my favorite! No summer plans here this weekend we are supporting a friend who is running for office and going to a fishing tournament and going to Innovative Beads Expo on Sat but other than that lots of time in the pool and work. I hate working in the summer.
ReplyDeleteOoooooh!! These pendants are fantastic!! My favorite is #4, but they are all beutiful! So far I don't have any plans for the summer, but I'd like to plan a trip to NM to see my family. As for a summer dish...my go to staple is deviled eggs!! 6 hard boiled eggs cut in half, yolks removed. Mash yolks (or blend till smooth), add 1/4 mayo (I use a mix of half mayo & half miracle whip), 1 tsp prepared mustard (yellow), & 1 tsp vinegar. Mix that all together & scoop into the egg halves. Top with paprika! I always taste beforehand to see if it needs more vinegar or more mustard, etc. and I usually always double the recipe as they go so fast!!
ReplyDeleteWe are moving!! Good thing we took our vacation to Colorado already. We found out we got our new house a day before we left ;)
ReplyDeleteNo summer plans. Being retired now, it's always summer! Learning new patterns and working in the garden. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteWe are planning a staycation

My absolute favorite dish is fresh tomato, avocado and mozzarella drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and a dusting of fresh pepper...it'll take a bit more time for my tomatoes to ripen, but well worth the wait...yummo!

Wow, what beautiful pendants!
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't think I have any summer plans. And I usually don't make any special dishes (right now I mostly bake). But one very simple dish I like is salmon pasta: put fresh spinach in a colander. Boil pasta and pour the cooked pasta over the spinach. Add creme fraiche and smoked salmon (cut into bite-size strips). I eat it like that. You can add pepper or any other spices you like too. Or use flavoured creme fraiche.
Other than that, I like cold dishes for summer. And, of cause, pickled herring with potatoes (boiled with a few twigs of dill), boiled eggs and sourcream (gräddfil) on Midsummer's Eve.
My summer plans are to work to develop the skills I learned at Penland and Art & Soul this past year.
ReplyDeleteI'm of the make reservations mind set when it comes to recipes.
What gorgeous pendants!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting my husband's family in Germany (my mother-in-law's 85th birthday) and I have a show coming up on August 3rd.
wow, they are all so beautiful! I would be very happy to win any of them!
ReplyDeleteAs a school teacher I spend months planning for my summer months. But, I never accomplish what I set out to do. I eventually let the days dictate what I will do.
ReplyDeleteWe're sticking close to home for the rest of this summer. Soon the garden will dictate our daily plans:-).
ReplyDeleteThe pendants are beautiful!
I've been meaning to email you to say how much I LOVE my bracelet. Thank you so much! Miriam loves finding the owl and giving it a kiss. I guess she's making it clear she wants it passed down to her one day:-).
My summer plans involve starting to work only part-time! We also have a trip to South Dakota and to another to Washington State (to visit family) planned.

Camping in a cabin this year at Raystown Lake in Pa. Mel
I'm in the middle of flea markets in "up north" Wisconsin, so I guess those are my plans! Had to read through for the summer dishes, what a great questions! I see the tomatoes, mozzarella and basil and the winners, so here's another one: Gently combine or layer drained tuna, cooked peas, cooked potatoes, and tomatoes, diced. Add parsley, basil, whatever you like. Serve with ranch dressing: about 2/3 part Hellmann's mayo and 1/3 part buttermilk with all-purpose type seasoning, dill, pepper, be creative. May need extra buttermilk. May sound weird it's great! What a generous donation from Lynda! All desirable!!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful, I've admired Lynda's work for a long time. I'd love to be able to wear one of these beautiful pendants!
ReplyDeleteHmm....summer plans...well, I take every moment I can to get into my studio and create. My mind is crowded with ideas and I can never catch up!

Best Summer food- watermelon! It's a complete food & the best summer diet ever! ;)
Summer plans? Well, I don't really have any huge vacation plans, but I do plan on heading up to Sacramento to hit their bead stores (the awesome U Bead It and Bead Fetish) and stock up on various findings that I am low on. Summer's my "beading season" and I just got back into sead bead weaving (earrings mostly) so there has been obsessive earring making going on, heh.
ReplyDeleteI also hope to get on my bike and go on some nice bike rides! I just discovered I'm pretty close to a paved trail, so that will be fun.
Hello Lorelei from Poland :)
ReplyDeleteFirst I want to write, I admire your blog and yours art works. I like to peek at your blog every day.
Like others I think, these pendants are gorgeous and now I'm dreaming about one of them.
My summer plans? To forget about my work and enjoy the beauty of the world. I will try also to create an attractive handmade jewelry :) I'm beginner, but I love it!
And my favorite summer dishes? These are the fresh vegetables from my little garden. They taste good in every form, because they are devoid of any chemistry.
Greetings from Suwalki in Poland :)
My favorite summer dish is roasted poblano potato salad. It has red onions, poblanos, potatoes, cilantro, lime, queso fresco. I love this over a bed of romaine lettuce with a little grilled chicken.
ReplyDeleteAs for plans...I'm off to visit my parents and hometown friends (and checkout each beading store within a 50 mile radius of their house.).
I love Lynda's polymer clay faux stone pendants.
Wow how exciting is this and yes I would love to own one of the gorgeous pendants, I really love #4, but they are all lovely!
ReplyDeleteThis summer I had planned to catch up on all my past projects that are half-finished and so far I am doing pretty good with that idea. I still have many things to get done but, yay, there is still lots of summer left!
Take care and thanks for this wonderful opportunity!
Tina xo

ReplyDeleteHello Miss Lorelei!
ReplyDeleteOh! Such lovelies!
I'm working most summer. Work work work. BUT. This Sunday to next Wednesday, my family is hosting a camping trip up in Santa Barbara! My boyfriend and I and a bunch of cousins are going to be "roughing it" as much as one can in beautiful Santa Barbara... lol. We'll at least sleep in a tent :P
Summer plans....I am a teacher so summers are time for me to stay home and complete some home improvement projects. I have been cleaning and purging (which doesn't sound fun but it is satisfying) and I stripped the wallpaper in the kitchen and dining room-getting ready to repaint. I have been reading tons too :)
ReplyDeleteThose pendants are awesome! I am planning on spending as much time as possible in the pool or the A/C this summer. Thanks for the chance to win!!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer meal is a "big salad" with everything but the kitchen sink....and a glass of champagne to wash it down!
And.....I will always bead....regardless of the season!
All the pendants are gorgeous but number 1 - the beautiful Black Line Floral Image is something my mother would love and her birthday is right around the corner. (Maybe simply strung on a Kumihimo braid that I just learned how to do.)
ReplyDeleteOther than crafting a gift for my wonderful mom, I plan on a wild summer of sprinkler play, paddle pools, firefly catches, and bubble blowing with my 3 little ones.
Thanks for the giveaway,

ReplyDeleteI never win Lynda's giveaways on her blog, so maybe I will have better luck here. 4 chances. Summer plans, none really except work. Mostly take my vacations in the winter to get somewhere warm. Summers are too nice in PNW to leave. Only time it doesn't rain...LOL
ReplyDeleteI am going to spend the whole month of August in Seville at my parents house. Me and my two little girls love staying over there.
ReplyDeleteThey have so much fun in the swimming pool and I love it when we go to the beach as it so close by.
