The Cherry Picker

My cousin Chrissy and I were staying with my Grandparents back in oh say, like 1984? We loved staying there. They had the best inground pool, a sprawling Ranch on a corner lot with the biggest shaded lawn ever.
We went Cherry picking. We ate more than we picked. We ate and ate and ate the cherries, they were so delicious, we couldn't help ourselves.
That night, we both got s i c k. I mean, rush- to -the- bathroom, i -need -the -toilet- AND -a -bucket -to throw- up -in -sick. and they only had the hall bathroom.  We weren't allowed to use their master bath. My Grandmother was so displeased. I can't say I blame her.
I can say that was the last time I ever went Cherry Picking. But when I think of Cherries, this is the story that comes to mind. And I do still eat cherries. In fact, I've been researching recipes this week for a good Cherry Crumble. If you have any good cherry recipes let me know!

  3. That is a cherry of a bracelet uniquely done. I have a very simple recipe for Black Forest Cake. Take a fudge chocolate cake mix fix it to the directions on the box bake for half of the bake time. Take out of oven, pour a can of cherry pie filling on top(or homemade cherry filling), put back in the oven and bake for the remainder of time. Cool completely and enjoy. This is good with a scoop of vanilla ice cream too.

  4. Wow! This bracelet is one of your best! I've been going back and reading your blog from the beginning. I can't get enough of looking at your jewelry. I also admire your photography. I recently tried to photograph a necklace with limited success. I can't seem to find the right kind of light, and don't really know how to make the best use of my husband's digital SRL. (I'll keep trying till I figure it out.) You are a great inspiration. Thank you!

  10. What I love about this bracelet is the links. Looks like little branch stems. And of course I was chuckling over the story! I've got a great fruit pie recipe that you can uses the cherries in.

  11. My cousins and I did the same thing with strawberries! But we didn't pick them; our moms bought them at a roadside stand. We hid in a storage room in their house with the strawberries and some sugar in a glass...dipped and ate... dipped and ate... fortunately, there were enough of us that 1) we could spread the blame, and 2) there weren't enough to make us sick!
