Last night's Beading results
I am slowly getting back into it. I feel like I haven't been cranking them out since I got back from Bead Fest. I should really get on it because that next craft show is fast approaching. I just feel kind of uninspired and "blocked". I crafted this bracelet last night and the necklace this morning.
I changed up the popular leather beaded wrap bracelet by doing using the same materials but using the macrame knotting technique. I love how it turned out, and I wasn't sure how the owl would sit but I think he looks pretty cool perched on the center of the bracelet like he is.
It's time to stop hoarding this beauty from Leann of Summers Studio Etc. A beautiful peacock feather pendant dangles below a wire wrapped lampwork bead from Pinocean, with wire wrapped African turquoise, faceted pyrite, new jade, and amethyst, and some fancy chain. It's a longer piece at 22 inches.
Both of these are now listed on etsy.
I LOVE that bracelet!!! And Leann's components are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your idea to macrame the weap bracelet. It looks like it helps keep the bracelet from twisting. Right? I also have had the twisting problem with ball chain. Cool!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to grab a few minutes to try one of the leather wrap braclets! Love the peacock necklace too of course!
ReplyDeleteTodo me encanta pero el Macrame Owl Bracelet es perfecto!!
ReplyDeleteThe bracelet is very cool, Love! I think we bought the same brass beads. LOL! I'm in LOVE with those. I picked some up in silver, copper and brass at Bead Fest.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! And you say you are uninspired?! Great idea with bracelet.
ReplyDeleteLove both of these pieces. I like owls as much as you...I immediately went to Ornamentea, but sadly the owls are out of stock. (I'm on the email list if they get them back in.)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your wonderful blog! It's the first thing I check on the computer every morning.
I LOVE the bracelet and the macrame knotting. And LeAnn's peacock feather is so awesome. Glad it is being used and will not be appreciated in a new home. Both are gonna draw compliments like crazy!
ReplyDeleteOh my, LOVE the macramee bracelet. That is sooo cool!
ReplyDeleteHi Lorelei, i love the bracelet and of course the owl & i want to try one of those bracelets...i'm kinda a hands on girl though anyway take care ttfn Lana :)
ReplyDeleteLove the way you combined those two techniques in that bracelet. It became pretty awesome! Of course exquisitly chosen components and colors makes all the difference. I think it is one of my favorite pieces by you ever. In the top ten list. I wanna have a go now. Wow wow wow Lorelei!!!
ReplyDelete(Is it because I am so into macrame too lately?)
It would be so great if you could do a tutorial on this. What happens at the ends with the leather and the string? How is it finished off? How is the button attached? and so on ... Sorry for being so demanding.
:-)
This is very nice bracelet. I am from Greece and happy to visit your blog.!!
ReplyDeleteYou know I have been desperately perusing all of the beading blogs for inspiration for my bead soup. Trying very hard to come out of my comfort zone and not do any seed beads with my soup. Ya'll do way more designing than I do, and these two pieces just prove it. Deceptively simple, but just stunning.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Malin, I need to know the juicy details!!
Fantastic! Love them both!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome what you did with the leather/macrame knot design. The owl is perfect! That's one of the first techniques I learned when I first started beading back in the dawn of time and I love how you've updated it!
ReplyDeleteYour creations are beautiful...love them both!
ReplyDeleteYou are back! I love them both too!
ReplyDeleteCilla
I want that bracelet! You are ever brimming all the time Lorelei! I think you have genius status!
