2 Things
Over the weekend I went to Hobby Lobby and was perusing the aisles when this beautiful salmon color suede sheet caught my eye. I had to have it. Its so soft, and the color is just perfect. For what? I have no idea. I really have no clue what I'm going to do with this. Maybe cut it into my leather strips for jewelry or create flowers with it or whatever. I'll come up with something.
While there I bought the embroidery hoops and fabric I needed to finally finish my little hoop art for my bedroom. I want to eventually collect more artist made hoop art. Its one of my favorite things to search for on Etsy lately.
I love how it turned out but quickly realized I cannot fluff the comforter while making the bed. They all came floating off the wall when I did that.
Lesson learned. :)

I love your embroidery hoop decorating idea! It's so colorful and would be easy to change out the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with that gorgeous suede.
Too cute! I want to do those hoops too. I've seen them made with fav old baby clothes for the babe's room.
ReplyDeletethose hoops are such a cute idea. love the image of them all floating off the walls lol
ReplyDeleteMy jewelry studio is filled with items that "just caught my eye and I had to have it". Yes, I too have a bead addiction. No, I am not seeking help!
ReplyDeleteThe fun part of buying supplies we don't need at the moment, is how they inspire us when we least expect it!
Cracking up on the "floating off the walls" image! What a lovely idea. And yes, I would have bought the leather too.
ReplyDeleteLove the hoops! Your leather purchase is how I often buy things -- I call them my Homer Simpson purchases . . . Mmmmmmm . . . sooooooooft/preeeeety/etc. . . . =D
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you make!
LOVE the hoop art! I may have to steal, I mean adapt, this myself...hmmm...You've just enabled me with a reason to go to Joanne's!
ReplyDeleteOh that is yummy suede! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteThey just put a "Hobby Lobby" near my house. Big. Mistake. Big.
ReplyDeleteThey have everything!
I picked up some charms and when I got to the counter, found out they were 50% off! That place is super!
That RealLeather brand seems to be good stuff. I've not seen it elsewhere--I got mine at Hobby Lobby too; some dark brown waxed leather cord. Really inexpensive and really easy to work with and strong. Need to get some more--I liked it as much as hemp.
ReplyDeleteLove the hoop art and thanks for the chuckle about it floating off the wall. We sometimes get unintended results.
ReplyDeleteYummy looking suede. If you come up with a good use for it, just a hint that you can often find beautiful suede and leather jackets at the Goodwill and thrift stores.
The hoop art is so cute and charming. They remind me of your tin discs.
