Walk like an Egyptian
We are gearing up at the Museum for the new Shadow of the Sphinx exhibition that opens this weekend. It's really a cool show, I am psyched to bring Joe to the opening on Saturday night. There is a lot of cool jewelry in the show too, so I've been extra inspired. Finally got my act together and put together some Egypt inspired jewelry for the Museum's gift shop! Check them out!
Bronze glass rounds, Deep Lapis & Pyrite coins, Matte gold seed beads, Pewter Scarab pendant, and round link chain
Pewter scarab pendant, Etched lampwork round from MooginBeads, etched Khaki lampwork bead from Outwest, silver charm from Staci Louise Originals, and link chain. I used some cool red wire from Soft Flex Company to bring out more red in the piece.
Love how these earrings turned out! Ceramic scarabs, Faceted shell pearls in bronze, Czech glass stars, glass seed beads, and brass components from Vintaj Brass Co.
Beetle focal from Round Rabbit Extra, Metal rounds, Ceramic bicones from Jean Christen, and a green stone round. Brass components from Vintaj Brass Co.
Pewter Mummy pendant, resin rounds, faceted agate rounds, Kyanite sticks, ceramic scarab bead, Pewter Cat button from Mamacita beadworks and deep red one cut seed beads
Ceramic scarab pendant from Earthenwood Studio, Faceted agate rounds, Peanut shaped Turquoise, faceted silver spacers, Pewter button from Green Girl Studios
Faceted agate rounds, resin rounds, ceramic scarab bead, small pewter frog charm, pewter swirl hook from Green Girl Studios, and cornerless cubes
Ceramic scarab, vintage chain, faceted labradorite rounds, Brass Sparrow compass from Vintaj Brass Co, bronze charm below scarab from Saki Silver
All scarab beads, and pewter pendants were all found at Happy Mango Beads!
I have one more piece I want to make. While at B&B I mentioned to Lori Anderson that I was working on this Egyptian jewelry and she came by the table during the book signing and gifted me with this cool Scarab vessel that she found at the show. I see seedbeaded bails hooked into the 2 arms at the top of the pendant. :) That Lori, she's so good!
I went to the Metropolitan this past weekend. My sister-in-law and I spent our time at the Egyption exhibit. Took my breath away. Enjoy your opening. Love the inspiration
