Back from Paradise
As you know, I spent the last week up on the coast of Maine with my honey. What a great trip! We had a nice and relaxing time... one night in Ogunquit, one night in Freeport, a book signing at Beadin' Path, a fun dinner with Heather, her Mom, and Stephanie Sersich.... 2 nights in Boothbay Harbor. The inn I found in Boothbay was really charming, and so comfortable. It was really wonderful there. Fell in love with everything.
Here I am set up for the book signing at Beadin Path. Heather had wine and cheese and other snacks for guests. It was nice to get to meet a couple of blog readers/fans. And it wasn't too busy which gave me a nice ample amount of time to chat with each one!
We went out on a 3 hour boat tour, saw 7 lighthouses, lots of Osprey, a bald eagle, many a lobstah trap and buoys, sailboats, gorgeous homes right on the water.
We also checked out the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. A great place for inspiration, I must say! Took a million pictures. They'll eventually end up on Flickr, if you'd like to check them out.
Here's a few of my favorites.
It's always nice to be back at home. Marley did NOT like that we left her and made sure to keep waking me up at all hours of the night last night. Glad we have the weekend to relax and get ready for the upcoming work week.
Can't wait to get into the studio! I returned to many packages of beads, and brought a great load home as well. Beadin' Path is a great place to shop, and I clearly went nuts.
2 other things I bought on my trip.... got a great deal (50% off!) of some Frye leather boots.... and an awesome necklace from artist Kristina Kada.
Anyway, glad to be back!

Other highlights, LL Bean, Inc!, sleeping comfortably in a few great Bed and Breakfasts...
Enjoying Gimlets and lunch in Freeport, and coffee on the porch. The weather was fantastic all week!
Anyway, glad to be back!

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip! I would love to visit this beautiful place. When you mentioned the three hour boat tour the theme song to the Gilligan's Island show popped into my head.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a good time, I have never been to Maine but after your post I may have to check it out sometime. I just love the boots fantastic
ReplyDeleteWelcome home. The time sure flies by, doesn't it. Sounds like some lovely places to visit. I'd love to go to Beadin' Path for sure.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an awesome trip Lorelei. I would love to visit this part of the USA someday.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great trip! I always laugh when I hear about 3 hour boat trips, glad you didn't get shipwrecked!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see and hear that you had a wonderful vacation in Maine! We would love to go back there someday. Love the photos and the loot you picked up at Beadin' Path.
ReplyDeleteI ♥ those Frye boots! Maybe one day you will sign my book! Glade you had a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteLovelovelovelove Maine. The coast is gorgeous. The shopping (Freeport? Kittery? Please?) righteous. Glad the trip was so great! And if you do go back at some point, do go inland! Wonderful lakes (Moosehead is awesome), wonderful hiking areas (the Appalachian Trail, amongst others). Really, Maine is just incredible! :)
