6th Bead Soup Blog Hop Reveal
Thank you for stopping by! Today is the 2nd reveal of Lori Anderson's Bead Soup Blog hop.
What is a bead soup? It's a collection beads, one focal and a beautiful clasp that is sent between partners, and on reveal day we show what we've made with the beads we received! Fun, right!?
In case you missed my post about the beads, here they are again. I got 2 soups because my partner Dhea Powers spoiled the heck out of me! Dhea runs a lampwork glass business called Javabead with her husband, Russ. In this first collection, she sent some pearl discs, pearl sticks, faceted crystal rounds, jade, some polymer flowers, a marcasite clasp, and a large lampwork focal bead with a beautiful summery palette of orange and fuschia.
Here is the first piece I created using the soup above. I decided to make a multi strand bracelet because Dhea sent this beautiful multi-strand marcasite clasp. I used some orange and fuchsia matte seed beads in between the beads.
I grouped the beaded strands together and then strung the lampwork glass focal in the center. The colors are amazing, and I really love how the beads work together in one piece of jewelry. The only beads I wasn't able to use in this design was the large fuchsia jade rondelles. I was thinking I could make earrings or something and then time got away from me. A project for another day, maybe?
This second soup is comprised of some bronze faceted glass, Lucite, pearl sticks, clay beads, silver nuggets, teal stones, copper discs, a handmade silver wire hook clasp, and a set of 3 amazing lampwork glass beads. Both color palettes are gorgeous and I really enjoyed working with both sets of beads!
I created a long necklace using the beads in this second soup. I was able to use almost all of the beads! I chose an asymmetrical design, showcasing those lovely lampwork glass beads at the front left.
This necklace would be fun to wear with a cute tank, and mini skirt, and a cute pair of sandals, like this!

Cute right!?? The tank, skirt and shoes were found at Anthropologie. Well enough about my soup, head on out to what Dhea made, and then all the others! Here's a link list of all of today's participants! Have fun!

ReplyDeleteBoth are luscious! That second outfit for me only makes it because of your beautiful necklace. Was looking forward to your reveal and it didn't disappoint. : )
ReplyDeleteYou sure had some scrumptious soup. Love that long necklace - the colours are lovely.
ReplyDeleteLorelei, these are a great visual example of why BSBP is so successful in its "mandate": forcing everyone out of their usual design path. Two totally different looks, unexpected colour combos and sharp attention to the materials at hand. They are both lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love that second necklace so much, and I love that you paired it with an outfit. What a great idea! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the asymmetrical design you created for the necklace...You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteFirst soup is the best!!! Great colours, ROSES, and cool design! Regards!
ReplyDeleteFreaking in love with the pink set you got (but then, I would, wouldn't I?) But the blue -- that's awesome, too. I would wear both of these in a heart beat. I love Dhea's beads (have some watermelon-y ones waiting to play with). Thanks so much for participating!!!!

Your work is beautiful. I do love the colors in the bracelet!
ReplyDeleteAs always, your designs are delightful. I was a little surprised how much I like the palette of the first soup, but bright colors draw my eye every time. You did a nice job working with those colors as well. However, your second soup was by far more 'ME' and the necklace you created with it speaks to my soul of calm. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the pink/orange combo of the bracelet but the necklace is just amazing...very soothing colors and lots of texture.
ReplyDeleteThe sherbet soup is amazing -- what color! And I love how you simply dove right into all that gorgeous color with your beautiful bracelet! The asymmetrical necklace rocks -- I went asymmetrical and long too with my BSBP6 jewelry, and it makes classic jewelry that is also cool!! I bought your book just for creating my BSBP6 designs too -- fantastic ideas and great book. Lovely jewelry Lorelei!
