Price Tags
Yesterday I went out to Joann Fabrics on my way home from work and picked up some things for my price tags. This year, I decided to do kraft paper tags, and embellished them with a Mum rubber stamp and some white opaque ink- and also picked up a white paint pen. The tags are attached a few different ways, either with linen cording or strips that are looped around the piece and held together with small brads.
I am pleased with how they came out. They will be easier to deal with than the little tiny string tags I normally use. And easier to remove for the customer if they want it.
For earrings, I bought some Kraft paper cards, at Hobby Lobby, stamped the flower at the bottom of the card, and punched holes for the earrings at the top. They are bigger than cards I've used in the past but I like the brown paper and the consistency with the other things in my display.
Nice. I just did a show and my mom told me I should be using craft paper tags and not the white ones. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea with the little brads and paper tags! It seems appropriate to have a handmade tag for a handmadepiece. I really dislike my current tags which I print on business card paper and attach with string....boring!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I'm totally going to copy this idea.
Please do!!
DeleteLOVE your tags. I have struggled with tags for a while - ultimately whatever I try to do, they look a bit messy. I like your ideas with the brads, I might have to see if I have use that in some way.....
ReplyDeleteGreat idea with the brads. Where do you find them? All the tags look great. I like the consistency of the kraft paper.
ReplyDeleteFound the brads in the scrapbooking department of the craft store. I see them at Michaels/ but got these at Joann Fabrics.
DeleteThanks!
DeleteThis is such a great idea. Mind if I borrow it?
ReplyDeleteabsolutely go ahead!
DeleteGood luck! Wishing you many sales and good weather! (Oh, and if you have copies of your book you should put those on sale as well. I started getting interested in making jewelry because of art fairs and I would have bought an instructional book from a seller in a heartbeat if I'd liked her work. Just sayin'...)
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful display. The brads idea is genius! Do you mind us less than genius borrowing the idea? I love the stamp, I would have guessed you would use a Owl stamp. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is uber clever, Miss Lorelei. I love the little wraparound tags and they way the ink looks. I want to make a bunting for my table and I was thinking of fabric, but I might give paper a shot. Thanks for sharing! Enjoy the day. Erin
ReplyDeleteLove it. The only thing I might add would be specific branding - your name or shop address stamped on there somewhere.
ReplyDeleteSo freaking cute! They look great. The tags look seamless with your jewelry. And great idea from Marcie! Absolutely put that book out, Girl! It's funny because Marcie and I have a similar background with starting to make jewelry. I didn't know that!
ReplyDeleteI love your tags, very artsy!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea! I love them
ReplyDeleteLove them-they look beautiful! The longest part of preparing for a show, at least for me anyways, is creating and attaching tags to my jewelry. But my husband thinks they make the pieces all that more special and I agree! Handmade tags make all the difference!
ReplyDeleteSo simple but so lovely! I love kraft paper, and your mum stamp is divine! Love the filmy white ink you've used. Simple design, but the mum sticks in your mind.
ReplyDeleteI love the brad idea...would make attaching/detaching price tags sooo much easier.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific idea using the price tags for earring cards! You always blow me away with your creativity and ingenuity!
ReplyDeleteHuh!? This stamp has been my signature look on kraft paper for several years now, only I use orange ink. However, I've never used the brilliant idea of using brads to fasten price tags. The stamp also works great on business cards as it's a nice simple, graphic image. May it bring you lots of sales this weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing! I've been toying with making new price tags for my items. I wanted something handmade but not something that would take me HOURS to make. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the show!
