New Work
Crafted some pieces last night while Joe was at golf. The necklace is my most favorite of these 3. I love how it turned out and have been hoarding that lampwork glass feather bead from Loupiac for several weeks. I have a strand of them. They are amazing. It also features this amazing silver leaf embellished button from Anne Choi. SWOON!
Last weekend I bought a new camera (Nikon D3100) , and am so so pleased with the pictures it's taking. I am still waiting for some instructional books I ordered to help me operate it. It's my first SLR camera. I am pretty clueless how to use it but in the auto-modes, it's taking excellent shots! These are great examples because it was really cloudy and dark this morning when I took them. But this pic was pretty impressive.
Very pretty! I love the cute earrings and that necklace is very unique and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful sense of color, Miss Lorelei. Always inspiring. And that reminds me that I have been hoarding my three Anne Choi buttons for something like 3 years now. Time to find them and put them to good use! I also have some of those wing dings. I love what you do with them. They sort of perplex me! And may I suggest that if you really like macro shots (that is the mode I shoot my DSLR in all the time), I bought some screw on filters that are different macro powers and boy do they work for cool effect! And for a minute fraction of a macro lens! Enjoy the day. Erin
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I wondered about those filters, I saw them on Amazon when I was searching out cameras! Cool to know they actually work!! you don't have a macro lens though, right? I have tried a little bit with the macro setting but find that A lot of the settings do pretty much the same thing. it's a learning curve for sure I guess.
DeleteBeautiful pieces. I agree, the necklace is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your first SLR camera! Gosh, if I lived closer I would totally help you understand your camera better. I am one who learns by seeing and doing, so manuals and books never work for me! I'll send you an e-mail with some suggestions for manual settings that will work in the environment you are shooting in. Manual will always produce better results and give you more control over the lighting, but program is an excellent alternative as you are seeing. Have fun!
I could really use your help!!!!!!
DeleteLove the necklace. And the wing dings are great inspiration (I have a few of those I have been trying to start with). Just Lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! My favorite is the earrings. Now wait, It's the necklace, or maybe the bracelet. Oh heck I love them all. You find the most unique beads, and I don't mind saying I'm a bit jealous of that ability.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Thanks Alice! I just blame my shopping addiction. that's really all it is!
DeleteAll lovlies, but I am loving the necklace most as well. I have the same camera and in 6+months have not figured out all of the bells and whistles. But boy does it take good photos. You are going to love, love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat pieces for sure. If you haven't already taken Kerry Bogerts Snaptastic class, she walks you through all of it for both your new camera and regular point/click digital ones, too - awesome info!
ReplyDeleteGet a tripod, set the camera on the "A" (priority Aperture), set the opening at f22, focus, set the timer and shoot! That's how I do all my pics (not that they're the best but hey, they did make you buy those feathers, right? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI was shocked to hear that your pictures were not taken with a SLR camera. Your photos are always so beautiful. What kind of camera were you using? I guess it proves it is not the camera but the photographer. Also congratulations about leaving your job. I am sure many people (like me) are jealous. You have great things ahead of you. Best Wishes.
