I have participated before in Oh, Hello Friend's blog challenges and gift swaps. Danni pairs her participants up with partners and then we swap gifts!
This time around I was paired with fellow jewelry designer and blog friend Suzette of Ellie's Bijoux!
I was so psyched, what better partner than someone I know who likes jewelry and beading!

Unfortunately the first gift I sent to Suzette, ended up being sent back to me with a big ol' FAIL notice for not enough postage. It floated around and around the "system" for a few weeks before it made it back to me so in the mean time, I created gift #2 for Suzette and mailed it off.

Gift #2- I created this colorful bracelet using some various stones, and some glass and lucite beads with a sweet Bee charm from TheaToo. I created the clasp using some vintage tin and lobster clasp. I know Suzette is a fan of color so I knew I could get away with using some color in her gift. That, paired with my serious Spring Fever lately, a pretty and colorful piece was born!

Gift #1 finally arrived back to me and I was able to send back out again after a good talking to, to the Post Office clerks. Turns out they had mistakenly clicked the Parcel Post button when weighing my package and it ended up being short on postage for First class by .70 cents.   Mr Green Owl necklace was returned to its rightful owner and I  do hope that Suzette likes him too!

I included an Owl charm from Elukka, some brass chain, wire wrapped gold glass rounds, and some African seed beads in green with some lavender thrown in for good measure.

Here is the package I opened from Suzette!  The packaging was just lovely!! She really took a lot of care and time in wrapping my gifts - I feel a bit like a schlub as my packaging job was not nearly as great. SO SORRY SUZETTE!!

Suzette sent me a gorgeous handcrafted Wood initial ornament for my tree. It's from Vino Backyard Designs on Etsy. They do lovely custom work if you ever want to order something special!

She also sent me this adorable HOOT pendant from Nan at Spirited Earth, along with some purple flower beads from Elaine Ray!  The handmade greeting card was a nice addition to this wonderful present.
And lastly, she sent along this gorgeous fabric brooch from Tefi. Love the colors and have been wearing it alot lately pinned to my winter sweaters!!

This a really awesome swap so if you get a chance to join in on the fun, do it! I follow Danni's blog and she's always posting interesting and fun things there!

  1. Love both pieces-but the owl necklace really is the bomb! USPS never fails to screw up. I have had more mishaps with them than I care to think about!

Suzette's packaging is really beautiful! Love the gifts you received.

  2. Ooooh, I love that beautiful "E" ornament! How intricate and delicate! The owl pendant is super sweet, too! I love Nan's work!

  3. Love the owl necklace!

I also participated in this very same swap. I got a knock on the door from the post man and he told me that I OWED him 50 cents because the package that was sent to me didn't have enough postage. Go figure!

  4. I adore both of the pieces you sent out to your partner. They are fabulous and so bright and cheery. And the prizes you got are really something to be giddy about!

I'm sorry to have to turn on the word verification here, but I got fed up with spammers comments!
