new techniques

Playing around today in the studio and discovered a fun new technique using seed beads, linen cording and this cool bicycle chain from Fusionbeads.com. (They also had it at LimaBeads.com at one point)   First I made a necklace and then I couldn't stop and did 2 more bracelets.  Each one showcases art beads from my stash. Above, a ceramic triangular pendant from Round Rabbit Extra that I'd had for a LONG time, it's probably now considered extinct.  I layered a bronze connector from Starry Road Studio on top of it and dangled some seed beaded dangles with some rough cut rubies.

This bracelet features some brightly colored ceramic coins from Mary Harding, and some lucite beads. I love that bright color color and it goes so nicely with copper chain.

And finally this triple stranded number with a ceramic button from Jean Christen, and an enameled leaf charm from C Koop Beads. I love this blue, green, and rust color combo- I could wear this one every day.

  2. Love it! So effective. I'd love to see the chain before you put the seed beads in it, off to Fusion to check it out! Gorgeous jewellery, as always :-)

  4. Cool! It kinda looks like beadweaving that took you hours and hours to do! I like the depth it has with the different finishes of the chain, seed beads and linen working together. All that texture creates stunning looking pieces!
