FINALLY
There is a faint sound of a choir singing HALLELUIAH this morning, in my head. After dreaming about it for several months, I am finally able to bite the bullet and purchase the Swanstrom disc cutter that has been on my wish list for so very long.
Isn't she purty??
Don't get me wrong, the Pepe tools disc cutters that I have been using have really been great, and I have no complaints but they are wearing down. I know this because my wrist is killing me because every disc cut takes about 6-7 blows with my brass mallet. Yea, um, that's too many. At one point, something's gotta give. And I don't want it to be my wrist.
Now that I've been working more at building my tin inventory, I need better tools.
I also splurged and got the Center punch set so that I can make washers a bit more "even" and accurate. Right now, I just eye and sometimes my eye is cock-eyed, if you know what I mean.
I am so super stoked and can't wait for these to arrive. I bought these sets at Fundametals!

Insanely jealous here! It's on my list but need a second kiln first. Michelle (Fundametals) lives about a mile from me so it's very often had to resist.
ReplyDeleteI think you'll really like it! I love mine!
ReplyDeleteLooks very fancy!
ReplyDeletelove your tin work lately. imna look this baby up and of course decide its too expensive...
ReplyDeleteI was just about to purchase a less expensive disc cutter set. After reading your experience, I think that in the long run, this will be a better choice for my jewelry.
ReplyDeleteMary (ohsofabu on etsy) and a big fan of your work.
