Knotted Numbers

Back at it again with the knotted necklaces.  I really enjoy making these with 7 ply waxed linen cording in this nice neutral sand color.   My bead stash is chock full of my favorite bead medium. CERAMIC. And so, I pulled together a collection of beads for each necklace showcasing several different artisans in each piece. The first one I created was a multi-color design....

Used varying single larger beads, and then added in some smaller beads on the second strand for some extra detail.

And then one in all Greens.  (reserved)

And Teals....

And all Blues....

Ceramic beads are the bomb. If I ever wanted to make my own beads, I would absolutely gravitate towards this medium. There are so many fabulous glaze colors and the shapes and styles are endless! In the meantime, I love supporting all of my ceramic artist friends. :)

Lot - I'm 60 and wear this style of necklace all the time. Age is not a factor.

  9. Lovely stuff! I'm a sucker for ceramics, too, although the pieces I gravitate toward are a little large for jewelry (unless we can figure out a way to make jewelry out of vases and bowls!) It's fun to see how you can take this knotting technique and make each piece look so different, yet so true to your style.
